Summary of 2/8/01 G/L Team Meeting

Task:          The G/L team was divided into three groups to complete the assignment of

                   relating PS data to UD Existing data by April 1.  Each group will compare the

                   data tables in PS with the data element tables in GA.  The groups are as

                   follows:  Ben and Karen  - GA Gadescfile , Cathy and Linda – GA Gabalfile,

                   and  Tim and Dave – GA Srtmat. 

 

Ben distributed handouts on how to create a PS query report using the PS query tool,  information on  running and viewing cross reference reports, and an example of a PS standard report.  He continued with an overview of the PS Query Report tool and a demonstration on creating a PS query. 

 

Jeff completed the assignment of downloading the PS tables, and he created a database in Access.  At the G/L meeting he downloaded the database from the UDFS home page located under Working Documents and saved it in Access.  Then he demonstrated writing a query in Access using the PS tables to display GL records, fields, and panels.

Ben distributed another handout with the response from the Executive Committee on the list of questions generated from the General Accounting Department on their assignment of  populating the PS chart of accounts chartfield values.

 

There was an email sent out to some of the PS teams with directions for setting up your PC to be able to access Web Cast.  This access will allow you to view PS recorded training sessions.  After following these instructions you will also need to contact Tori  Windley (email address:  tori@udel.edu) to set up the customer connections access with a user name and password before you can view the recordings.
