Decisions: Dave Adkins will take on the task of writing a program that will facilitate

the conversion of the 84 UD accounts to the PS SUV.

Ben announced that the Executive Committee set April 1 as the target date to complete the assignment of relating PS data to UD Existing data. This entails taking existing Data and determining where it might reside in PS. It should also include a judgment about whether the logic for the data; 1) will need to be redeveloped because it will not convert to PS format, 2) should be redeveloped because the logic is outdated and does not meet your needs, or 3) is directly convertible to PS with it’s existing logic. In the process, we need to identify those tables that are mandatory in PS versus those which may be optional to run the system. (They may be mandatory for your needs, but not to run the PS system in its plain vanilla format).

Jeff stated that he is still working on the PS cross reference table that will provide us with Ps panel names, elements, and related tables. He was unsuccessful in using Crystal but is making progress using MS Word. Jeff is converting the information into a text file and bringing it into word in pieces by field name order. He is currently working on the letters E, F, & G. For those that have not looked at panels and related tables, continue to look at a few panels for familiarity with the PS system and to learn how to navigate.

Ben distributed three handouts that will provide the GL team with information regarding the General Accounting Department’s efforts to populate the PS chart of accounts chartfield values. The first sheet is a list of questions regarding the UD account code conversion. The second sheet is a response from the Executive Committee on the list of questions. The third sheet contains a list of chartfield conversions of 84 UD accounts to populate PS. Ben asked Dave if he take on the task of writing a program that would facilitate the conversion of the 84 UD accounts to the PS SUV.

Jeff continued with a discussion of how much information we need to use in converting the current UD accounts to the PS chart fields. He said that you can tell it as much or as little as you want.
