UDFS – Communication/Training Team Minutes

June 24, 2002

GENERAL MEETING MINUTES:

PS Financials 8.4 being loaded; available for use in early August

Introduced new team members: Amy Taylor (HNS) and Linda Somers (B&E)

Peggy suggested to all that they take the PS 8.4 on-line tutorial, available on the web (some bugs being worked out)

Needs Assessment Planning:

Data Warehouse survey: Agreed to identify and follow up on anomalous responses – topic for next meeting

General Discussion: are we on the right track w/ doing focus groups next

Issues raised included:

• Learning the tool not enough; must see how to apply it to users’ own data
• Train the trainer model has many benefits including addressing above concern
• Many people might just want views; they need to be told what they are looking at (not everyone aspires to be a “high-level” user)
• We cannot meet everyone’s wish list
