E-MAIL
Staff and faculty members requiring remote access to e-mail while traveling can request an authorization code (with
Departmental approval) be issued to them for dial-in purposes via an 800 number. An e-mail is required to be sent to
telephone-services@udel.edu.
Include the name of the person needing access, the Department and the
purpose code to charge for the 800 usage
charges.
Once the e-mail is received and processed, the staff/faculty member will
be sent the assigned authorization code and the 800 number to dial,
1-800-831-0064.
When setting up your modem string in the modem phone number connection
field, type 1-800-831-0064, two to three *commas and then your
authorization code.
*The commas allow a pause between the number dialed and the actual
connection. You may have to experiment to find how many commas are
actually needed in order for the network to connect and process your
authorization code. Also, when using your connection from a hotel or
other facility, you may need to adjust your modem number to reflect any
prefixes the facility may require to dial out, such as added "8's" or
"9's".
For more information on e-mail access from off-site campus locations, check out the IT Help Center web page http://www.udel.edu/topics/connect/ppp/index.html.
You can also contact your Departmental CITA or the Technology Solution
Center at 831-8895 for additional help.
