1. What is Telephone Services e-mail address?

2. Do I call Telephone Services directly to report a phone repair?

  • Please call the Help Desk at x6000 to report a phone repair

3. How do I go about purchasing a phone and/or equipment?

  • To purchase telephone equipment, send an e-mail to telephone-services@udel.edu. Telephone Services is happy to assist the Departments with providing information on optional equipment and pricing. Feel free to give us a call at 831-2411

4. What is the installation cost of new phone line?

  • The estimated cost for the installation of a new phone line is approximately $150.00. This price can vary, however, depending whether there is additional equipment installs necessary or wiring needed

5. What is the time frame necessary for phone work to be completed?

  • The estimated time frame for new installations is 7 days after it is received in the Telephone Services office. Plan on submitting your request up to 2 weeks in advance to allow time for order processing. For larger projects or special requests, please allow at least 6 weeks. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions on the approximate timeframe that is needed

6. How can I get an 800 number to access e-mail when traveling out-of-state?

  • Telephone Services can provide you with an 800 number and an authorization code to allow access to your e-mail. Departmental account approval is required for code issuance prior to account submittal. Send a request 24 hours in advance to telephone-services@udel.edu. Include your name, Department and the account code to be charged and an authorization code will be issued for you

7. Are calling cards available to University of Delaware staff and faculty?

  • Calling cards for staff and faculty are available and can be used both for domestic and international calls. Departmental account approval is required prior to request submittal. Send your request 24 hours in advance to telephone-services@udel.edu. Include your name, Department and the account code to be charged

8. Who do I contact in reference to charges on my University of Delaware phone bill?

  • Telephone Services staff members, Blaze Dougherty at x8465 (blaze@udel.edu) and Jennifer Zappo at x2600 (castle@udel.edu), are available to assist with any questions you have in regards to your University of Delaware phone bill.

9. What software features are available on my centrex phone numbers?

  • A complete list of centrex phone line software features and their activation codes are available on-line. They can also be found in the Campus Directory blue pages. If you have questions or problems with a feature activation code on a phone line, please call us at 831-2411

10. I am interested in obtaining cellular phone service. Does Telephone Services also handle cell phones?

  • Cellular phone service information is available through Telephone Services. You will be directed as to the current procedure for obtaining cellular services.
