Administrative Dialing - Newark Campus
International calls-- dial 9 + 011 + country code + city code + number you are calling. For international person-to-person and international directory assistance-- dial 9 + 00. You will be asked for what country and transferred to the appropriate operator. When asked for a billing number, give the number you are calling from.
Long Distance operator-- dial 9 + 00.
To call Sharp campus in Lewes-- dial 55 + 4 digit extension
Newark campus telephone users have the ability to call numbers in Sussex county toll free. Dial 55-9 and the 7-digit phone number.
To dial on-campus office phone numbers -- dial 4 digit extension.
To call student phone numbers-- dial 5 + 4 digit extension
Administrative Dialing - From Kent and Sussex Counties to Main Campus

In addition, callers from Sussex and Kent Counties are able to dial any number in the New Castle County calling area at no charge, including Kemblesville and Landenberg in southeastern Pennsylvania.
CDAR Code Calls
The "CDAR Code" is a special code used to bill calls to a University budget account number. To obtain a code, call Telephone Services (x2411) or e-mail request to

Long Distance Calls
Students may access long distance from their dorm rooms using personal calling cards, prepaid cards, or by dialing collect. For your convenience, the University Bookstore has prepaid calling cards for sale. Please check with the Bookstore for further information on prepaid cards.
For personal calling cards or prepaid cards, follow the dialing instructions that accompanied the card. Instructions are normally listed on the back of the card.
