United States Golf Association
The UD Sport Management program consulted with the USGA on strategic planning and corporate partnerships. The project was a collaboration between UD Sport Management students, faculty, and the USGA staff in Far Hills, NJ.

International Basketball Initiative
Through a grant from the United States Department of State, the UD Sport Management program began the International Basketball Initiative in the fall of 2004. Through this grant, the Sport Management program has initiated educational, sport, and goodwill programs with organizations in Senegal, Turkey, and India.

The program has been highly successful in helping to advance relationships between the United States and these three nations. This program is overseen by Dr. Matthew Robinson.

Irish Basketball Federation

For the last several summers the UD Sport Management program has formed a partnership with the Irish Basketball Federation. Through this partnership, several Sport Management students have completed summer internships in Ireland. The goal of this partnership is to grow the game of basketball in Ireland.


USA Team Handball
University of Delaware Sport Management program was the official host of the 2007 US Team Handball National Open Championships. In conjunction with the Delaware Economic Development Office, UD hosted 30 teams from throughout the United States for 3 days of competition.

Hens Hardwood Classic
The Hens Harwood Classic is a one day, campus wide, 3 on 3 basketball tournament managed by Sport Managment students from the event and facility management course.The event occurs in mid April and attracts over 150 players.The proceeds from the event benefit the Sport Management program.
