Mission Statement and

Event Information

 

 

The mission of the 2009 Hens Hardwood Classic is to successfully manage and market a 3-on-3 basketball tournament that will enrich the University of Delaware community in a fun, safe, and competitive environment. The Sport Management students will utilize knowledge obtained through their academic curriculum to create a valuable learning experience.

 

 

 

 

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

 

The 2009 Hens Hardwood Classic, originally scheduled for May 2nd has been postponed and tentatively rescheduled for Saturday, May 9th beginning at 12noon. Therefore, the registration deadline for the 2009 Hens Hardwood Classic has been extended to 5pm on Friday, May 8th. Payment and registration brochures may be dropped off at Carpenter Sports Building, Room 015 from 9am-5pm. Tables in the Lil Bob lobby will also be set up from 3-7pm on Tuesday, May 5th, Wednesday, May 6th, Thursday, May 7th, and Friday, May 8th. What: The Hens Hardwood Classic is a campus-wide 3-on-3 basketball tournament that is presented by the students in the HESC 438 Event and Facility Management course along with the UD Future Sport Managers Student Association.

 

When: The 2009 Hens Hardwood Classic will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2009. Games will start at approximately noon and continue throughout the day.

 

Where: All games will be played in the Carpenter Sports Building, Gym 2.

 

Who: All UD students, faculty, and staff are eligible to compete in the tournament. There will be divisions for men, women, and faculty. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each division. In addition, each participant will receive an event t-shirt.

 

Cost: The registration fee is $10 per player and teams may be comprised of 3-4 players.
