Fourth Annual
Hens Hardwood Classic
Newark, DE –The University of Delaware Sport Management Program and Future Sport Managers Student Association will be hosting the fourth annual Hens Hardwood Classic 3-on-3 basketball tournament for the students, faculty and staff of the University of Delaware.
The tournament will take place on May 9th, 2009 with games beginning at noon in Gym 2 of the Carpenter Sport Building. The registration fee is $10 per participant and all profits will go to the UD Sport Management Program. The tournament will have four divisions (Men’s Elite, Men’s Recreational, Women’s and Faculty/Staff. All teams will be guaranteed three games and each player will receive a complimentary event t-shirt. Promotional events will include a high-flying slam dunk contest, a three point shooting contest and a basketball skills competition. Each division winning team and promotional contest winner will receive a prize provided by local and national charitable donors.
Registration brochures are available online at www.udel.edu/SportManagement or may be picked up in Room 015 of the Carpenter Sports Building. Information tables will also be located in the Lil Bob from 3-7 pm on Tuesday, May 5, Wednesday, May 6, Thursday, May 7, and Friday, May 8th. The registration deadline is Friday, May 8th at 5pm.
The event organizers’ goal is to enrich the University of Delaware community in a fun, safe, and competitive environment. The Sport Management students will utilize knowledge obtained through their academic curriculum to create a valuable learning experience as well.
