Dr. Stuart Binder-Macleod was chosen by the Medical College of Virginia’s Department of Physiology to receive the 2003 Outstanding Alumnus Award for Basic Health Sciences.  The committee nominated Dr. Binder-Macleod for this award based on his “exceptional academic and scientific accomplishments.”

The Outstanding Alumnus Award for Basic Health Sciences, which was established by the Medical College of Virginia Alumni Association, is based upon service and dedication to one’s alma mater or department, as well as one’s national and international recognition.  

Dr. Binder-Macleod formally accepted this much-deserved award in Richmond on September 2003 and gave a seminar at the request of the Department of Physiology and the Alumni Association.
