Application Due Date:
Interview Schedule:
October 15 (Round I)
mid Nov Friday
December 1 (Round II)
mid Jan Friday
January 15 (Round III)

PLEASE NOTE:  The application procedure has changed as of September 2009.  Please read the following very carefully.  Applications are now verified through PTCAS (which can take up to 5 weeks)and mailed weekly to UD for admission review.   Applications received after January 15 will be considered only if spaces in the class are available. The PTCAS program deadline indicates the date you must submit your web application and official transcripts to PTCAS. This is not the deadline by which your verified application must arrive at UD. Please consider requesting your transcripts be sent prior to hitting the submit button on your web application to PTCAS.

The following procedures should be followed closely when applying to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at the University of Delaware. Failure to do so could result in your application being delayed or determined invalid. Applications cannot be evaluated until all components of the file have been verified by PTCAS (which can take 5 weeks) and mailed to the University of Delaware. Submission of all components is the responsibility of the applicant. There is NO Supplemental Fee for 2009-10.

The applicant must:

  • Complete the online PTCAS application and send all necessary materials to PTCAS for verification.
DO NOT SEND transcripts, letters of recommendation or verification of clinical experience hours to the University of Delaware. These are sent to PTCAS for verification.

  • Completion UD Supplemental Application Form, listing the courses taken to satisfy the UD prerequisites and the self-reported GRE scores. This form can be emailed, faxed, delivered or mailed to the UD Physical Therapy Department, attention Terri Reed (refer to information at the bottom of this page).

The UD PT Admissions Review process involves:

  • Evaluation of prerequisite courses, undergraduate GPA cumulative and GRE scores, along with other application information received from PTCAS. Based on this evaluation you MAY be offered an interview, which is required for admission.

If you are offered an interview, your application could be processed in one of three ways:

    1. You may be offered Admission.
    2. You may not be offered Admission, but be asked if you would like your application reviewed again with the next round of applicants. If you choose this, your application will be held active until the end of the Interview process.
    3. Your application may be rejected.

If you are not offered an interview, your application could be processed in one of two ways:

  1. Your application may be reviewed again with the next round of applicants. That is, your application will be held active until the end of the Interview process in mid February.
  2. Your application may be rejected.

Final notification of acceptance or rejection will be forwarded by the middle of April.
