Meeting minutes
1. M cams
In order to test and switch to wide angle lenses, the new lenses need to be focused. This is an important and tedious process, Dan has been communicating with Vicon regarding all of the steps that need to be taken. He will update everyone as he finds out more information. He will also let everyone know when the actual “focusing” will take place for anyone who wants to participate.
2. Sharing
of lab information
In order to facilitate lab-wide communication regarding shared equipment, we will all make an effort to send emails to the MAL list and utilize the archives on the web. We will also place hard copies of documents, emails, etc in binders that will be available to everyone. Anyone who has information regarding cameras, workstation, visual 3d, emg etc can give that info to Sarah T.
Sarah T will update the archives and will gather information to be placed in binders
3. Data
collection computer
There was discussion regarding the configuration of the “old” data collection computer. Since we are all using either 2000 or XP, we need to make sure that whichever operating system is put on the data collection computer will be compatible with either operating system. Clare will continue to discuss these issues with Vicon. Once we have agreed with what we need, we will meet with Jie and move forward with changing to the “new” computer.
In case anyone ever needs it, the vicon computer
is plugged
in beneath
4. Online
MAL scheduler
So far, scheduling has not been a problem. The online scheduler is now protected by the firewall, so that should protect the scheduler from hacking, etc. If there is a problem with the online system, please inform Sarah T and she will discuss it with Jie.
5. EMG
We now have 2 EMG backpacks and a bunch of new surface electrodes. The new back pack and electrodes are kept in the cabinets by the sink. Laura, Sarah T and Becky (undergrad) will test all the electrodes that are currently on the floor. The list that hangs on the cabinet door will be updated and we will continue to update that list every month or so. If there are electrodes that are not working during a collection, put them aside and test it after your collection. Please update the list on the cabinet door, if need be. There will be a bag in the cabinet marked “not working, need to be sent back” – please put any electrodes that do not work in this bag and they will be sent to Motion Lab Systems.
6. Lab
cleaning
Ya-weng will discuss lab cleaning with the cleaning staff. She plans to pick a day every month for the lab to be cleaned (floors, counters, desks). She will email everyone once a day has been chosen. We will need to make sure that everything is off of the floor and picked up before the cleaning day.
7. Visual
3D
For anyone interested in learning about Visual 3D, Katy will organize a meeting time within the next 2 weeks. There will also be a meeting regarding “bugs” and possible solutions.
8. Labview
license
There was discussion regarding whether or not we
fall under
the license agreement with the
