PhD Students win National APTA Publication Award
March 9, 2006. Jill Heathcock, PT, MsC and Michele Lobo, PT, MPT, both students in the PhD Program in Biomechanics and Movement Sciences working with Cole Galloway, PT, PhD have won the Dorothy Briggs Memorial Scientific Inquiry Award for their article "The Relative Kicking Frequency of Infants Born Full-Term and Preterm During Learning and Short Term and Long-Term Memory Periods of the Mobile Paradigm" Physical Therapy, Vol 85, January 2005.
The Dorothy Briggs Memorial Scientific Inquiry Award, established in 1969, recognizes student members of the American Physical Therapy Association who have demonstrated the ability to prepare a well conceived, suitably designed, and clearly expressed article published in Physical Therapy.
The award is named in honor of Dorothy Briggs (deceased 1967), who was an outstanding educator and an active investigator at the University of Wisconsin, where she received a doctoral degree in physiology.
