Dr. Perumal received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in mechanical engineering from Pune University, India. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware. After his post-doctoral training in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Delaware, Dr. Perumal is currently working as a Research Scientist at the University of Delaware. Dr. Perumal’s research interests include mathematical modeling of human skeletal muscle in response to functional electrical stimulation (FES) and development of smart control strategies for FES applications.
