The Post-Election Stock Market

U.S. stocks enjoyed a one-day rally after the presidential election, propelled by shares in health and defense companies that may benefit from Bush’s re-election. But, still-high oil prices kept gains in check and stocks have been generally flat since then. 

As the post-election dust settles, what’s the longer range impact of a second Bush administration on the U.S. stock market? The University of Delaware has an expert available who can speak about this topic.

Are Parents Too Lenient?

A new survey shows that 43 percent of parents of teens “want to be their child’s best friend” and that 40 percent would buy their children everything they wanted if they could. In an interesting twist, only 26 percent of the teens surveyed said that they plan to follow this parenting style.
