Political commentator Larry J. Sabato will speak on "The Impact of the Media on American Politics" at the Delaware Humanities Forum's annual lecture at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Clayton Hall. The event is free and open to the public, and audience members are invited to a reception immediately after the lecture.
A specialist on the role of the media in American politics, Sabato is the author of Dirty Little Secrets: The Persistence of Corruption in American Politics, Toward the Millennium: The Elections of 1996 and Feeding Frenzy: How Attack Journalism Has Transformed American Politics.
A professor of government and foreign affairs at the University of Virginia, Sabato, who has appeared on several national television shows, was called "probably the most quoted college professor in the land" by The Wall Street Journal.
