The University of Delaware's annual Management Development Breakfast Series opens Thursday, Oct. 1, when Darrell J. Minnott, director of the state's Economic Development Office, presents "Looking Ahead at Delaware's Economic Development."
Minnott's talk and all other offerings in the series will be held in the Goodstay Center on the UD Wilmington Campus. Breakfasts begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the talks.
The series is designed to keep business leaders informed of the latest management topics without being away from the office during busy times. Each talk in the series concludes at 9 a.m.
Other presentations in the series include "Global Business-What Are the Issues Today?" presented by A. Keith Willard, chairperson of Zeneca Inc., on Thursday, Nov. 5; and "DuPont's New Global Services Division," by Cinda A. Hallman, senior vice president of the DuPont Co., on Thursday, Dec. 3.
The series continues in 1999 with "U.S. Economic Outlook," presented by Robert H. Shrouds, chief economist for the DuPont Co., on Thursday, Feb. 11; "Financial Engineering and the Future of the Insurance Industry," by Robert D. Graham, vice president and general counsel, General Reinsurance Corp., on Thursday, March 11; and "Evolving Role of Independent Directors in Corporate Goverance" by William T. Allen, head of the Center for Study of Law and Business at New York University and former chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery, on Thursday, April 15.
Cost of the entire series is $125 per person.
Cost of individual programs is $25 each, and corporate tables are available. The cost for UD employees is $15.
