Brittney Griffin, a 4-H Club camper, and counselor Deon Hurst paint a sign for the Brookmont Farms community garden, where campers, neighborhood families and New Castle County 4-H teens are raising tomatoes, radishes, beans and corn. The garden is just one activity of the Feeding the Hungry program, which promotes youth and adult learning about food supply issues and hands-on participation by the campers and teens in Food Bank operations. The project is funded by a $2,500 grant from Kraft Foods and is coordinated by Carol Scott, Cooperative Extension.
