Strong communication, programming and public relations skills are essential. DUTIES: Manage the daily operation of the Office of the Vice President for Student Life. Oversee the division budget. Identify major budget planning priorities in collaboration with the vice president. Insure that strategic planning efforts of the nine operations are congruent with goals of the entire division. Signature authority on student life budgets. Plan retreats, professional development programs for senior staff and the division. Advise student life deans and directors on policy, personnel and budget matters on a daily basis. Serve as designated problem solver in the Office of the Vice President. SPAN is a University-wide network of designated problem solvers who assist students in resolving conflicts/problems efficiently and in a timely manner. Write and compile Division of Student Life documents such as Board of Trustees reports, briefing books, annual reports. Write final versions of division brochures and documents. Coordinate monthly meetings of Undergraduate Cabinet (advisory group of 16 key student leaders) to address student concerns and work to resolve issues important to students.
