UD Library recognized

T he University of Delaware Library is the recipient of the annual Delaware Library Association Library Award, given each year to a library or institution in recognition of outstanding support for Delaware libraries and extraordinary services to the people of the First State.

The award was presented by David Burdash, president of the Delaware Library Association and director of the Wilmington Institute Free Library.

"The University of Delaware has been selected to receive the 1999 award for providing access to information resources of great value to all Delaware libraries; for being a state and national leader in information technology and promoting libraries as support for an information literate society; for generous inter-library loan activity; for supporting and implementing UDLib Search in Delaware's schools; for setting outstanding standards of service within the library profession; and for providing outstanding advocacy for Delaware's libraries and the Delaware Library Association," Burdash said.
