For several UD employees, recent participation in Wellness activities has brought immediate results.
Jane Hoback, dean's office, human resources, education and public policy, won the Walk Here...Fly There grand prize--a $500 airline voucher for anywhere in the continental United States, provided by University Travel and the Wellness Center.
The prize was part of the Wellness Center's annual spring walking program that attracted 435 participants. Other prizes awarded this spring by the Wellness Center included tickets to a Blue Rocks Game, won by David Guhl, Facilities/maintenance. His name was chosen in a raffle for those who visited the wellness booth during the Employee Benefits Fair.
For participating in Stress Buster Bingo, a fun game designed by the Wellness Center to give players daily stress management ideas and tips for a five-week period ending May 14, Wayne Jarrell, Intercollegiate Athletics Program, won a one-year membership to the Brandywine Zoo; Gerry Zuka, plant and soil sciences, received a $25 gift certificate from Ron Eastburn's Florist; and Jo Fitzpatrick, Center for Educational Leadership and Policy, Lee Mullett, Medical Scholars Program, Scarlett Swayne, Employee Services, and Diane Zebley, admissions, all won massages from Deep Muscle Therapy Center of Delaware. More than 200 employees participated in this activity.
