Fraternity wins award

The Kappa Epsilon chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity received the Peterson Significant Chapter Award for the 1997-1998 academic year in recognition of excellence in all areas of operation, including recruitment, scholarship and risk management.

The $100 award has been presented to the University and is intended for use in future Greek activities.

"The award recognizes the best chapters of Sigma Chi," Richard Gilpin, Sigma Chi's undergraduate president, said.

"There are 230 international chapters of the fraternity, and only 36 chapters were selected for the award. This was our third award in six years."
