Coach savors sweet smell of success with his 1,000th win

Head babseball coach Bob Hannah became the 22nd coach in college baseball history and 14th active coach to record 1,000 victories as the Blue Hens split an America East doubleheader with Hofstra Sunday afternoon at University Field in New York.

Hannah, who began his head coaching career at Delaware in 1965, is in his 36th coaching season and, with the milestone victory, reached a 1,000-434-6 career record. Hannah is a member of the America Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and has received numerous coaching honors throughout his distinguished career.
