D.C. shuttle
The Washington, D.C., shuttle to the Library of Congress and the Folger Shakespeare Library will be in operation during the fall 1998 semester beginning this Friday, Feb. 19. The shuttle runs Fridays only and is available to faculty and graduate students.

Please make reservations in advance by calling Wanda McCracken or Debbie Lehman, Department of English, 831-2361, by noon on Thursday of each week.

Health careers day
A College of Health and Nursing Sciences Career Day-cosponsored by the college and the Career Services Center-will be held from 1-3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22, in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center. Approximately 40 recruiters, representing hospitals, medical centers and health organizations will be present to talk with students about job opportunities.

Give blood
Donate blood and save someone's life in one hour.

A blood drive will be conducted from noon-5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 23-24, in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center.

Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health and have had no tattoos or body piercings (excluding professional ear piercing) in the past 12 months.

Books for sale
More than 60,000 books in 30 categories will be for sale at the 30th annual Dollars for Scholars Used Book Sale, sponsored by the Wilmington Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). The sale will be held at the Concord Mall, Route 202, Talleyville, from Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 25-28.

The book categories include art and antiques, autographed editions, business, collectibles, travel, math, medicine, music, mystery, the mid-Atlantic region including Delaware, children's, paperbacks and many more.

Each year, scholarships and fellowships are awarded from the net receipts, and in 1997-98, 17 Delaware women, including UD undergraduates, received scholarships.

More than $260,000 has been raised to finance women's studies on local and national levels.

UDARF luncheon
The March luncheon of the University of Delaware Association of Retired Faculty will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, in Clayton Hall. David Frey, plant and soil sciences, will speak on "Ornamental Horticulture." Reservation forms are due by Feb. 25.

Alumni nominations
Nominations are due Feb. 19 for 1999 additions to the Alumni Wall of Fame.

The Alumni Wall of Fame recognizes outstanding professional and/or public service achievements of UD alumni. Nominees must have completed at least 30 credit hours at UD and have achieved senior leadership positions in their professional and/or public service careers. The nominee also should have made a significant contribution to further his/her profession and have been honored for his/her excellence and service through professional/civic awards and commendations. Current officers or directors of the Alumni Association are not eligible for consideration.

The 1999 Alumni Wall of Fame inductees will be honored on Friday, May 14.
