Volunteer fair scheduled Feb. 17

Students, faculty and staff who are interested in meaningful volunteer work or internships can learn about their options at the Service Learning Connection, a volunteer opportunities fair, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant Student Center.

Some 45-50 nonprofit organizations, ranging from Catholic Charities and AIDS Delaware to the Christina Cultural Arts Center and Children's Beach House in Lewes, are represented.

The event is always well attended, according to Sylvia Brooks, education, who helps coordinate the event.

"We also encourage representatives from student organizations to come and learn about possible service and community projects," Brooks said.

The event, which is in its seventh year, is sponsored by the Career Services Center, the Office for the Coordination of Intercultural Teacher Education, Clinical Studies and the Delaware Association of Nonprofit Organizations.

Peggy DiFulvio, clinical studies, and Marianne Green, career services, also coordinate the volunteer fair.
