Bryn Mawr Institute The University will sponsor one woman to attend the Bryn Mawr Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration this summer. The institute, a residential program, will be held on the Bryn Mawr campus from June 27 through July 23.The curriculum offers women faculty and administrators intensive training in education administration in the areas of academic environment, external environment, institutional issues and professional development.
This year's program will emphasize the growing diversity of the student body and workforce and will prepare participants to work with issues currently facing higher education.

Nominations must be received by the Office of Women's Affairs by Feb. 22.
Blood drives The Blood Bank of Delaware will be making monthly visits to campus for donations. Blood Bank members can fulfill their annual requirements by donating. The current schedule includes blood drives from noon-5 p.m., Feb. 23-24, March 16-17 and April 21-22, in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center.
Keepsake book University of Delaware: A Celebration, a keepsake book published by Harmony House Publishers, is available in the Campus Shop in the Trabant University Center and in the University Bookstore in the Perkins Student Center.The photographs range from the stately grandeur of Old College to the modern splendor of Gore Hall. In 96 pages of color photography and 16 pages of historical photographs from the University archives, the book captures the lively intellectual atmosphere and the beauty of the campus buildings and grounds

Society awards The Society of Women Engineers will be awarding $1,000 scholarships to a full-time female engineering graduate or undergraduate student who also is a member or applicant in the student section of the Society of Women Engineers.The recipients will be chosen from among candidates at UD, Drexel, Rowan, Widener, Temple and Villanova universities, the University of Pennsylvania and Swarthmore College.

Pediatric care "The ABC's of Pediatric Health Care," featuring Dr. Jamie McElrath of Newark's Pediatric Associates, will be presented from noon-1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, in Room 231 MBNA America Hall.The program will focus on parents' common questions and concerns about children of different age groups-from infants through adolescents. She also will discuss how to foster a good working relationship with your health care provider.
Everything from breastfeeding to asthma will be discussed. Most doctor's appointments last less than 10 minutes; this is an opportunity to have access to an expert for an hour.
