Faculty teaching sessions scheduled from Jan. 5-29

The sessions are designed for all those who teach at UD, including faculty, graduate students and others with full- and part-time teaching duties. The institute features hands-on workshop topics, such as teaching resources, support for active learning, problem-based learning, multimedia development, authoring in SERF (an online teaching and learning environment), web page creation, Internet skills and others.

Scheduled sessions include

• "Instructional and Syllabus Design, Testing and Grading," presented by the Center for Teaching Effectiveness;

• "Problem-Based Learning: Integrating Real World Cases with Internet Resources," presented by the Institute to Transform Undergraduate Education and Problem Based Learning Project;

• "Using PowerPoint for Teaching Live, On Video or On the WWWeb," presented by Information Technologies/ University Media Services;

• "Windows, Netscape, PowerPoint, Web Publishing, SERF, etc.," presented by Informtion Technologies/User Services;

• "Academic Advising with SIS+," presented by the Office of the University Registrar; and

• "Electronic Library Resources," presented by the University Library.

The seminar series is sponsored by the Center for Teaching Effectiveness, Continuing and Distance Education, Educational Technology Center, Information Technologies/University Media Services, Information Technologies/ User Services, the Institute to Transform Undergraduate Education and the University of Delaware Library.
