Speaker suggestions Anyone interested in submitting a nomination for the spring 1999 Commencement speaker is invited to contact the Office of Alumni and University Relations. Suggestions are sought from students, faculty and staff.Selection of the Commencement speaker is dependent upon several factors, including, but not restricted to, availability and speaker fees.
Recent speakers have included Pulitzer-Prize-winning columnist William Raspberry, journalist Georgie Anne Geyer, author Tom Clancy, poet Maya Angelou and businessperson and publisher Steve Forbes.
Nominations must be dropped off at the Information Desk of the Trabant University Center by 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, or suggestions may be sent via e-mail to <robert.davis@mvs.udel.edu>.
Winter workshops New Castle County Cooperative Extension Winter Workshops will be offered for adults and children from December through April. The workshops are designed to help 4-H members with ideas for their yearlong projects and to allow residents throughout the county to practice a skill.The 14 offerings range from meal planning to firearms safety and from web page construction to bonsai design.
In January, sessions will be offered on breads, babysitting, doll making and web page construction.

Facts and figures The Office of Institutional Research and Planning annually publishes a fact book, entitled Facts and Figures. Beginning this year, the book and its information is available on the office web site.To access Facts and Figures, first go to the web site at <http://www. udel.edu/IR> then scroll down to Facts and Figures (University of Delaware Fact Book).
In addition to the 1998-99 edition, information also is provided from the 1996-97 and 1997-98 editions.
Facts and Figures is available in both HTML and PDF formats, each of which is described in the web site. Those wishing to print pages from Facts and Figures will find the PDF format preferable.

Student pottery sale UD art students will sell original works of pottery on Friday-Sunday, Dec. 11-13. Mugs, plates, vases and assorted other items will be for sale at the Ceramics Studio in the Hollingsworth Complex, on North College Avenue.Sale hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 11; 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 12; and noon-5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 13. A preview for members of the University community will be held from 7-9 p.m. tonight.

Comedy scheduled E-52 Student Theatre will present The Great-Great Grandson of Jedediah Kohler, at 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11-12.The comedy by John Bishop will be presented in the Bacchus Theatre of the Perkins Student Center.
Admission is $4 for UD students and faculty and $5 for the general public.
