Scholarship fund to honor memory of Lester Chadwick

Lester Chadwick, 55, an associate professor of accounting, died Nov. 14 after a three-month battle with cancer, and the Lester W. Chadwick Scholarship Fund has been established in the Department of Accounting and Management Information Systems Department in his memory.

Dr. Chadwick had served on the UD accounting faculty since 1971. He also was a visiting professor at Indiana University and a faculty tax fellow at Price Waterhouse.

The recipient of the UD Department of Accounting Outstanding Teacher Award, Dr. Chadwick also was a member of such honor societies as Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma and of the American Accounting Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Tax Association, Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants, Delaware Tax Institute and Indiana Society of Certified Public Accountants.

A graduate of Boston College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, Dr. Chadwick received his MBA degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and his doctorate in business administration from Syracuse University.
