Bus trip Dec. 9 to tourist sites on Brandywine

The University of Delaware will sponsor a bus trip to Christmas and holiday exhibits in the Brandywine Valley on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Buses will leave from Lewes, Milford and Dover for the trip to the Brandywine River Museum and Longwood Gardens. Cost is $42.50 and includes a sumptuous holiday buffet in the Terrace Garden Restaurant at Longwood.

The Brandywine River Museum, home of one of the largest collections of paintings by members of the Wyeth family, celebrates the season with holiday displays of dolls, an extensive O-gauge model railroad and thousands of natural ornaments on holiday trees.

Longwood Gardens offers legendary holiday floral displays, decorated trees, music and more.

Buses will depart from the parking lot of Cannon Lab in Lewes at 8 a.m., from Milford Plaza at 8:30 a.m. and from the parking lot at K-Mart in Dover at 9 a.m. Return buses will depart from Longwood Gardens at 5 p.m.
