Lloyd L. Thoms received the University's Medal of Distinction at an August presentation ceremony by the reflecting pool at Winterthur Museum.
Thoms and his late wife, Dorothy, have been benefactors of the Art Conservation Program for almost 15 years. He has been a regular atttendee at student lectures, seminars and final presentations and has kept in contact with former students.
Thoms also has provided funds to support the Agnes K. Thoms President's Achievement Award at UD, in memory of his sister who was graduated in 1929.
In presenting the medal, President David P. Roselle said, "We are indebted to the private support that you, Lloyd, provide. Moreover, we are indebted to the moral, emotional and intellectual support you give our students, our faculty and our staff. We are grateful for your friendship and mentoring, and we give heartfelt thanks for your commitment and encouragement."
A graduate of Tower Hill School and Yale University, Thoms is a retired DuPont Co. benefit analyst.
