- #99F046 Dean, College of Engineering-Effective July 1. The University is a state-assisted institution with an enrollment totaling about 20,000 students. The college offers programs in chemical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental and mechanical engineering and materials science. Six centers provide research foci in biomechanical engineering, catalysis, coastal engineering, composite materials, engineering and molecular thermodynamics and nanomachined semiconductor surfaces. The dean is responsible for apportioning faculty lines and operating budgets in the college and is charged with providing the vision and strategic planning necessary to develop and enhance the quality of the college's undergraduate, graduate and research programs and facilitate collaborations with other colleges, and industrial, governmental and philanthropic organizations. During the tenure of the next dean, an additional 60,000-square-foot engineering building is scheduled for construction and about 20 faculty hires are anticipated. REQUIREMENTS: Must meet the requirements for appointment to the rank of professor in one of the departments in the college. The successful candidate must have experience in attracting and managing sponsored research and demonstrate an appreciation for the administrative support needed to maintain a vigorous research program. Associate degree and relevant University experience desirable. Requires knowledge of business operating procedures and standard business practice; ability to perform mathematical computations, operate microcomputers and terminals and communicate effectively; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Seeking highly motivated, customer-focused team member to join our Account Services Team. Experience in Excel, Lotus 1-2-3, Word, WordPerfect and Windows 95 preferred. DUTIES: Provide customer service to students, external customers, faculty and staff while performing clerical and record processing and bookkeeping duties involving paper and electronic files. In addition to general record-keeping responsibilities, duties will include, but are not limited to: answering the telephone and responding to inquiries about individual account statements; monitoring residency status changes, undergraduate withdrawals and processing refunds; coordinating printing of monthly account statements; identifying and monitoring accounts; processing fee waivers, sibling and senior citizen credits.
