D.C. shuttle The Washington, D.C., shuttle to the Library of Congress and the Folger Shakespeare Library will be in operation during the fall 1998 semester, beginning Friday, Sept. 4. The shuttle runs Fridays only and is available to faculty and graduate students.Please make reservations in advance by calling Darlene Reynolds or Debbie Lehman, Department of English, 831-2361, by noon on Thursday of each week.
Football tickets All UD intercollegiate athletic events are free to undergraduates (minimum 12 credits per semester) and graduate students (minimum nine credits per semester) with a valid UD ID. For football, students can get their reserved seats, in certain designated areas, at the Trabant University Center or the Bob Carpenter Center, beginning the Monday prior to each home game.Students sit in the general admission student section in the south end zone by presenting their ID at the specified student gates on the day of the game, beginning two hours prior to kickoff. Space in the student section is limited and is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Group tickets can be ordered in advance at the box offices by bringing a typed list of student names, Social Security numbers and signatures at least 48 hours prior to the game. The list also must contain a contact name and phone number of the person making the group arrangements.

Vita Nova now opens Vita Nova, the Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management Program's student-operated restaurant, is now open for lunch and will reopen for dinner on Wednesday, Sept. 9.For reservations and information, call 831-0500. Visa, MasterCard and FLEX are accepted.
Library hours The University Library's schedule for the Labor Day weekend is 8 a.m.-midnight, Thursday, Sept. 3; 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 4; 1-5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 5-6; and closed Monday, Sept. 7.Regular fall semester hours for the University Library are 8 a.m.-midnight, Mondays-Thursdays; 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Fridays; 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturdays; and 11 a.m.-midnight, Sundays.
Special Collection and Exhibition Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays through Fridays; 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Tuesdays.
Heart walk On Sunday, Sept. 13, corporate teams from Delaware will gather at Winterthur Museum and Library in Wilmington to walk 3.1 miles (5K) to raise money for the American Heart Association.The Employee Wellness Center at UD is seeking individuals to participate.
The walk will be held on the grounds of Winterthur, off Route 52, in Wilmington. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the walk kicking off at 9 a.m. The walk ends at 11 a.m. with a postwalk party. There will be health screenings, music and awards. Teams do not need to consist entirely of University employees.

CSB Late Night Beginning Saturday, Sept. 12, Late Night at Carpenter Sports Building will provide students an opportunity to enjoy late-night sports games. Students may drop in and play at their leisure or take part in the team programs that are offered from time to time.The events occur from 8 p.m.-1 a.m., and will continue on Saturday evenings throughout the school year. Student groups interested in sponsoring a program should call 831-6712.
Getting fit The Employee Wellness Center is sponsoring "30 Minutes in Motion," an exercise program to encourage regular physical activity each day. Registration will begin Sept. 8, and each employee will receive information through Campus Mail. Forms also will be available in the Employee Wellness Center office, Room 112 , Carpenter Sports Building.The program will begin Sunday, Sept. 27, and continue for eight weeks. Participants must perform 30 minutes of physical activity at varying levels from three-seven days a week. Each participant will receive a log sheet to track the activity.
Those who complete six or more days of activity will be entered into a grand prize drawing for a weekend trip to the Poconos. T-shirts will be awarded to those who complete the requirements five or more days a week.
Cost is $15 Wellness Dollars. The program is sponsored by the Employee Wellness Center and Principal Health Care.

Volunteer fair The Service Learning Connection Volunteer Opportunities Fair will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center.Students and members of organizations are invited to attend the event and learn about service opportunities with representatives of area agencies.
The event is sponsored by the Career Services Center, Center for Intercultural Teacher Education, Clinical Studies for Teacher Education and Delaware Association of Nonprofit Agencies.
