Faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to join the University of Delaware Library Associates. Founded in 1958, this nonprofit, friends group works to expand and enrich the library's collections through gifts from individual members, funds raised by UDLA-sponsored programs and donations of significant books.
The group also sponsors publications and works to make the collection better known to the University, national scholarly communities and the general public.
Members receive invitations to the annual dinner and lecture, exhibition programs and receptions, the annual faculty lecture and reception and other book-related events.
Members also are mailed the newsletter and Collections, an occasional journal based on using the rare book, manuscript and other collections of the UD library.
The student-level membership begins at $5 per year. Otherwise, general membership begins at $25 per year. To request a membership brochure, send e-mail to UDLA@mvs.udel.edu or call 831-2231.
