Retirement seminars set, personal sessions available

Whether you are a new employee or one approaching retirement, careful planning and preparation are important to achieve financial security during your golden years.

The Office of Benefits Services will again offer a week of retirement seminars to help employees with retirement planning.

This year's program includes three seminar tracks.

The early career track is for participants just getting started in a retirement program. Seminars within this track provide basic information about the University's retirement programs, workplace savings opportunities and investment basics.

The mid-career track is primarily for employees who have been contributing to a retirement program for several years.

Seminars within this track will provide detailed information to help participants fine-tune a retirement savings plan, evaluate investments and examine strategies to help maximize return.

The late career track, for participants closer to retirement, includes topics on Social Security, retirement income distribution options, tax and estate planning and University of Delaware retiree benefits.

In addition to the seminars, all of which will be held in the Multipurpose Rooms at the Trabant University Center, representatives of TIAA-CREF and Fidelity will be available to meet individually with employees on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 13 and 14.

To schedule an individual appointment, call Kay McCormick, benefits services, at 831-8823.
