'Weigh to Go' The Employee Wellness Center will assist employees who do NOT want to gain weight during the holiday season. Statistics indicate that the average person gains 7 pounds.A newly revised worksite program, entitled "Weigh to Go," involves a private weigh-in before Thanksgiving and a follow-up weight check after the New Year. In addition, materials, recipes and tips are provided, and there are no classes to attend.
Employees who weigh in at the postholiday check and who are within 3 pounds of their pre-holiday weight will be eligible to win a prize.
Weigh-ins will be held at Carpenter Sports Building, Alison Hall and the General Services Building beginning Nov. 24.
The cost to participate is $10 Wellness Dollars.

Student housing All students currently residing on campus who will be away from Newark for the spring semester must cancel, in writing, their Academic Year Student Housing Agreement prior to Dec. 19 in order to avoid being billed $100 for late cancellation.Faculty who are sponsoring a studytrip or who are aware of any students who may be away from Newark are asked to encourage students to file cancellation forms as soon as possible.
Montessori info A meeting to provide information on Montessori teaching will begin at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the Education Resource Center, 12 Willard Hall Education Building.Laura Orsic, director of the Montessori Resource Center of Delaware, will speak to those interested in teaching in a Montessori School. She also will demonstrate Montessori teaching materials.

Hall closings University residence halls will close at 10 p.m., Friday, Dec. 19, for all students, except those with a final examination that evening. These students must contact the hall director or assistant area coordinator of the building where they reside and request that an exception be made allowing them to remain in the residence hall until 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 20.Residence halls will reopen at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 4, for students enrolled in Winter Session.
