REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma (or G.E.D.) with two years of college course work or library course work preferred. Previous supervisory experience and substantial public service experience required. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to devise solutions to problems, demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to follow complex instructions. Working knowledge of library records and circulation operations, experience with computer equipment and operation and the ability to type. DUTIES: Function as a night supervisor at the Circulation Desk, with primary responsibility for supervising students. Train new student assistants as necessary and assist in the performance appraisal process for student assistants. Maintain effective liaison with security staff. Work the Circulation Desk and interpret library policies and procedures for library users. Create patron records for library borrowers. Prepare building for closing Sunday through Thursday nights.
