'Live' live at BCC Nov. 7

Live, the platinum-selling band from York, Pa., will bring its Secret Samadhi tour to the Bob Carpenter Center at 9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Bob Carpenter Center and Trabant University Center box offices and through Ticketmaster.

A limited number of tickets will be available for $18.50 to UD students with ID (limit two per ID). These student tickets will be distributed only at UD box offices.

Tickets will go on sale using the random number distribution system. Lottery tickets will be given out beginning at 9:30 a.m. to determine students' place in line.

All other tickets for the Live show will be $22.50, and when the special student allotment is gone, that price will apply to UD students as well.

Live, which performed at the Bob Carpenter Center in October 1994, rocketed to national attention that year with Throwing Copper, which went platinum six times and earned a four-star review in Rolling Stone.

During the 18-month world tour supporting that recording, the band appeared on the covers of Spin and Rolling Stone, was named Rock Artist of the Year at the 1995 Billboard Music Awards and appeared at Woodstock '94 and on Saturday Night Live and MTV Unplugged.

The band released Secret Samadhi in February, and the latest single from that recording is "Turn My Head."

The Nov. 7 concert is being presented by New Park Entertainment.

No moshing

Patrons of the Bob Carpenter Center are reminded that moshing, slam dancing, body surfing, stage diving, blocking the aisles and similar activities are prohibited. Anyone participating in such activities can expect to be removed from the building and will not be readmitted.
