Campus community invited to celebrate
education at BCC

A Celebration of Education, hosted by Gov. Thomas R. Carper to honor all of Delaware's educators, will be held at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22, in the Bob Carpenter Center.

Education students, University faculty and staff are invited to join public, private and religious school teachers, parents, administrators and support staff, mentors, childcare and preschool providers at the gala event.

The event begins with a reception and food court from 5-6:30 p.m., with Delaware students providing musical entertainment.

The program starts at 6:45 p.m., with a videotape featuring Delawareans talking about how teachers and educators have helped shape their lives.

The special guest at the celebration is 1986 Teacher of the Year, Guy Doud, author of five award-winning books, including Molder of Dreams, who will be the featured speaker.
