Cellular phone rates
Employees who currently are Bell Atlantic NYNEX mobile phone subscribers may be able to take advantage of even lower rates through a program offered through the University.

More information on how to take advantage of this new pricing plan is available through the Purchasing Department.

Safety training
University workers using radioactive materials must first attend radioactive material safety training, provided periodically by the Department of Occupational Health and Safety. The next session will be held from 1:30-5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15, in Room 132 of the General Services Building, 222 South Chapel St.

Bike to Bay for MS
UD employees are invited to ride in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's "MS 150 Bike to the Bay," on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4 and 5. Departure is from Smyrna High School at 8 a.m., Saturday, with an overnight at Dewey Beach and return on Sunday.

In the past four years, the UD team has raised more than $13,500.

This year, the UD team is riding for Althea McDowell, an honorary team member with MS and a program coordinator in affirmative action and multicultural programs.

Hockey tickets
Hockey tickets-a new addition for the Blue Hen Ice Hockey Team 1997-98 season-went on sale Oct. 1 at the Bob Carpenter and Trabant University Center box offices. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for UD students with a valid ID and for children under 12.

Tickets also will be available the day of the game at the Fred Rust Arena or Gold Arena-depending upon which rink is the game site. In the past, patrons always paid at the door.

The first home game is at 8 p.m, Friday, Oct. 17, against Duquesne University in the Gold Arena. Two other key games are at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 21, and at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, both against Pennsylvania State University in the Rust Arena.

Vita Nova schedule
Vita Nova will be closed on Monday, Oct. 20, during fall break.

Normal hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
