Staff luncheon The University Staff Association will hold its first meeting of the year from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15, in Room 219 of the Trabant University Center.The speaker will be Laurence Kalkstein, geography, who will talk about changing climates.
Established as the Secretaries' Association more than 20 years ago, the name later was changed to include both salaried and professional staff. Participants are invited to bring a brown bags or stop at the Food Court for a pick-up lunch.

Laser safety Persons working on projects involving the use of lasers should first attend laser safety training, provided as needed by the Department of Occupational Health and Safety.The next scheduled laser training session is from 1:30-2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, in Room 132 of the General Services Building. Train bus service The UD yellow bus line will discharge and pick up passengers at the entrance road to the train station on South College Avenue by request only.Train passengers also may catch the bus by using the pedestrian crossing to the Worrilow bus stop (at the stop sign) on the east side of South College Avenue.
The evening Route 2 bus line will discharge and pick up passengers at the entrance road to the train station by request only. This bus also will pick up passengers at the DART bus shelter on South College Avenue.

Authors' Day Delaware Authors' Day will be held from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Grass Dale Center in Delaware City.
