Baseball fans in southern Delaware may enjoy a trip on Monday, Sept. 14, to Camden Yards, sponsored by the Office of Alumni and University Relations. The Baltimore Orioles will take on the Texas Rangers.
Cost is $45 and includes roundtrip, deluxe motor coach transportation from Milford, a catered buffet dinner on the sixth floor of the Ballpark Warehouse and choice seats in the left field lower box.

Student works in Recitation Hall
Paintings by Lance Goldsmith of Newark, a second year graduate student in art at UD, will be on display from Aug. 7-21 in the gallery in Recitation Hall. Admission is free. The gallery is open by appointment by calling 831-2244. An opening public reception is scheduled at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 7.
Wellness survey due by Aug. 31
The Employee Wellness Center is offering "The First Step Toward Wellness," a lifestyle assessment quiz. By completing the questions, individuals can learn how they rate is several categories, such as occupational wellness, social awareness and nutrition. They also will receive an idea of where they need to focus their efforts to achieve a wellness balance.Cost is $5 Wellness Dollars, and all information is confidential. As an incentive, employees who complete an assessment before Aug. 31 will receive an entry into a drawing for a $15 gift certificate donated by Peace a Pizza on Main Street in Newark.
To receive an assessment, call the Employee Wellness Center at 831-8838, and leave your name, Social Security number and campus mailing address.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, corporate teams from Delaware will gather at Winterthur Museum and Library in Wilmington to walk 3.1 miles (5K) to raise money for the American Heart Association. The money raised by the seventh annual American Heart Walk will be used in the fight against America's number one killer, heart disease.The Employee Wellness Center at UD is seeking "Heart Captains" to recruit teams of eight members to obtain pledges. The goals for the event are to increase community awareness of walking as a heart-healthy exercise and raise money for research, education and community programs. This year's goal is $200,000.
There will be health screenings, music and awards. Teams do not need to consist entirely of University employees.
