Panel sessions and workshops will address a wide range of instructional topics designed to help prepare graduate students for their teaching roles and responsibilities.
Some of the topics include "Communicating Effectively with Your Students," "Evaluating Student Performance" and "Helping Students Use and Evaluate Internet Sources."
The topics are fairly generic, as individual departments will provide discipline-specific information to their TAs in the afternoon sessions. For experienced TAs, the conference also will feature one professional development session each day on such topics as engaging students in collaborative learning, designing a learner-centered course syllabus and developing a teaching portfolio.
Experienced TAs, faculty and representatives from the University library, Information Technologies/ User Services and CTE facilitate the sessions.
The preliminary conference agenda is available on the CTE homepage at <http://www.udel.edu/cte/tacagenda.html>.
