ROTC earns top rating

The Army ROTC unit at the University earned a "trained" rating at the 1997 Senior ROTC Advanced Camp. This rating was achieved by only 9 percent of the 270 units across the country.

In a letter to President David P. Roselle, Maj. Gen. Stewart W. Wallace, commanding officer of the U.S. Army Cadet Command, wrote the rating "demonstrates excellence in the campus training program and the hard work and competence of University cadets. This achievement also reflects the support given to the Army ROTC unit and students by the University of Delaware."

This summer, 22 cadets from UD will attend camp, which focuses on leadership skills, for 34 days at Fort Lewis in the state of Washington.
