Computer service A new desktop computer maintenance provider has been selected and an agreement is imminent. Contemporary Computer Services Inc. (CCSI) will officially take over the program on Aug. 1, but will be accepting service requests at 1-800-526-2146 during the transition.

Departments that wish to have equipment covered under a maintenance contract with CCSI should contact Purchasing through e-mail at Purchasing@mvs.udel.edu for the necessary equipment registration and pricing information.

Inquiries also can be directed to George Walueff, Purchasing, at 831-2167.

United Way video A videotape featuring UD employees and students associated with United Way agencies is being prepared in connection with the 1998 campus campaign.

Employees, students or student groups involved as volunteers with a United Way agency or who have been affected personally by a member agency's services are invited to contact Joyce Henderson or Karen Garrett, UD United Way campaign cochairpersons, at 831-2171.

Heart Walk On Sunday, Sept. 13, corporate teams from Delaware will gather at Winterthur Museum and Library in Wilmington to walk 3.1 miles (5K) to raise money for the American Heart Association. The money raised by the seventh annual American Heart Walk will be used in the fight against America's number one killer, heart disease.

The Employee Wellness Center at UD is seeking "Heart Captains" to recruit teams of eight members to obtain pledges for their participation.

The goals for the event are to increase community awareness of walking as a heart-healthy exercise and raise money for research, education and community programs. This year's goal is $200,000.

The walk will be held on the grounds of Winterthur, off Route 52, in Wilmington. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the walk kicking off at 9 a.m.

The walk ends at 11 a.m. with a postwalk party.

There will be health screenings, music and awards. Teams do not need to consist entirely of University employees.
