Dr. Jordan died of cancer on June 22. Instead of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in her name to the Student Services for Athletes Program at the University of Delaware.
Two other former University administrators died recently. Jack Murray, director of continuing education from 1962-1973, assistant provost and director of continuing education from 1973-87 and interim dean of the parallel program from 1991-1993, died of cancer on June 18 at the age of 75.
He originally joined the UD agriculture faculty in 1956 and was instrumental in establishing the Academy of Lifelong Learning.
Edith Anderson, a faculty member for 15 years and dean of nursing from 1976-91, died June 19 at the age of 70. Formerly the dean of nursing at the University of Hawaii, Dr. Anderson was active in health-care organizations throughout the region.
