The E. Arthur Trabant Institutional Award for Women's Equity was presented May 18 at a ceremony in the Trabant University Center.

The 1998 recipients are Cheryl Davis (right), assistant area coordinator of the Office of Residence Life; and Carol E. Hoffecker, Richards Professor of History.

Davis was recognized for her work on "Leaders on Laird," an innovative program that highlighted student leaders of color at UD, a majority of whom were women.

Hoffecker was honored for her commitment to the cause of women's advancement through her work as a scholar, teacher, mentor, administrator and colleague.

She played a significant role in the establishment of the Women's Studies Interdisciplinary Program and is the author of Beneath Thy Guiding Hand: A History of Women at the University of Delaware.
