The Arrival Survival Team is looking for 500 committed Blue Hens-students, faculty, staff and alumni-to welcome and assist freshmen and transfer students on New Student Check-in Day, Saturday, Aug. 29, according to coordinator Charles Shermeyer, residence life.
Luggage luggers will be on the front lines, giving students a hand in moving their belongings into their rooms.
Parents and students from former years have truly appreciated this service, Shermeyer said. Four- and eight-hour shifts are available in almost every area of campus except North Central.
A limited number of team members are needed to meet and greet parents in residence hall lobbies. Four- and eight-hour shifts are available for lobby greeters as well.
Shermeyer said former team members have said that they had a great time meeting, greeting and helping new students.
To sign up for the Arrival Survival Team, call Shermeyer at 831-2417 by July 31. He will try to accommodate all requests for scheduling.
