A series of full- and half-day "Welcoming Diversity" workshops is being offered this fall to students, faculty, staff and members of the community.
The workshops adhere to the model developed by the National Coalition Building Institute, which advocates looking at one's personal background and experiences then learning about discrimination that all groups have encountered.
Experiential, non-threatening and fun, the workshops are for all members of the University community. Facilitators also offer on-site workshops to units and University organizations. Based on positive responses from prior participants, these workshops have the reputation of building strong inter- and intra-group ties.
