WebMaster course honored

The University's new WebMaster Certificate Program has received an Award of Excellence from the University Continuing Education Association for its state of the market approach and design.

The award will be presented at a regional meeting at Syracuse in October. The program was designed and implemented by Greg Lynch and James Broomall, both continuing education.

The certificate program consists of six courses and workshops, ranging from "Introduction to the Internet" to "Web Page Authoring."

The program is designed to give participants the ability and skills to create, design and maintain web pages. This increases an individual's value to an organization and offers opportunities for advancement and career changes.

The UD program is one of very few offered through the country.

"I am extremely pleased and honored," Lynch said, "that the WebMaster Certificate Program has been recognized for its contribution to continuing higher education. The program was developed and implemented within 90 days of conception, filling a gap we saw in the education of today's computing and information technology professionals. Response by the public to this initiative has been overwhelming."
